Meet Beau, an utterly adorable, Shih Tzu mix who came to OC Animal Care in September as an owner surrender. He was very scared, sitting at the back of the kennel. Once out, Beau has blossomed.
Beau is a joyful, playful young boy. He is affectionate and attentive, and enjoys spending time with his human companions. He gets along with other dogs, but is just as happy entertaining himself with his toys. Either way, he loves to play!
It appears that Beau spent the first year of his life without proper attention and training. His foster family is working with him on resource-guarding, so a family with patience and experience would be best for him.
The good news is that he is highly trainable, and has already learned to sit. He also loves his crate, and looks at it as his home. Beau would make an excellent companion for a single person looking for a best friend to go with them everywhere, or someone with another dog to be his companion.
We rely on the generosity of animal lovers in our community to provide for the adoptable pets in our care. On average, it costs $300 to care for a dog until it finds its forever home. Please consider making a contribution to help us continue to rescue dogs like Beau. Our organization has been approved for exemption from Federal Income Tax under section 501(c)3 of the Internal Revenue Code.
