Meet the newest member of the PAC-OC, Rosie!

We found Rosie at the shelter in bad shape. She had a puncture wound in her chest through which her lungs were losing air. The shelter was unable to admit her to their medical program, so she was in grave danger.

We rescued Rosie and took her immediately to Southern California Veterinary Specialty Hospital. Her emergency care team suspected she had pneumonia and put her on antibiotics to bring her fever down. The origin of her puncture wound is still unknown, but it could be an dog or coyote bite; to be safe, she will be under a mandatory home quarantine for six months. Rosie has been released to the care of her foster family.

We will post more information about Rosie as she continues to recover.
